The Bitcoin Way Freedom Fund

At The Bitcoin Way our mission is to help people take back control of their money and their freedom through Bitcoin. But none of this would be possible without the open-source developers who build the tools we all rely on every day.
That’s why we’ve created something new: the Freedom Fund. A way for us, and for our clients, to give back to the projects and builders that keep Bitcoin strong, private and sovereign.
In this article:
Why we’re doing this
Bitcoin exists because of people writing code, fixing bugs, and building tools in the open. Most of these developers aren’t backed by big companies. They’re individuals dedicating their time and energy to something they believe in.
We’ve seen first-hand working with hundreds of clients that self-custody and sovereignty only works because these people keep pushing forward. The problem is, many of them are underfunded.
The Freedom Fund is our way of saying thank you and making sure they can keep building.
How it works
Every month The Bitcoin Way will donate to open-source Bitcoin projects. Clients can add to the fund as well if they want to support alongside us.
All donations will be transparent. We’ll publish every transaction ID so you can see exactly where the sats are going.
Who we’ll support
We’ll focus on projects that help people take control of their Bitcoin and protect their privacy:
Wallets
Node software
Privacy tools
Education and open-source research
These are the things that make Bitcoin usable, safe and sovereign.
Why it matters
Bitcoin is more than just an asset. For many it’s a lifeline. A way to protect themselves against inflation, surveillance and financial control. If we want Bitcoin to remain open to anyone in the world who needs it, then we need to support the builders who make it possible.
Join us
We’re putting our own sats into the Freedom Fund and invite our clients to do the same. Every sat helps. Together we can make sure the people building Bitcoin have the resources they need to keep going.
